NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday declined to grant a stay on the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2024 exam, Live Law reported. The court was hearing the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking re-conduct of the NEET UG exam due to alleged malpractices and paper leaks this year.

The petition was assigned for hearing after the summer holiday (in July) by the bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, which included Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra. However, the CJI pointed out that the outcomes of "an all-India exam" could not yet be overturned.
A Bench comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala, and Justice Manoj Misra stated that it cannot halt a nationwide exam but proceeded to issue a notice to the Central government regarding the plea and requested its response.
"We will schedule it for after the summer break, but we cannot stay the results of an all-India exam," the Court remarked.
The petition, filed by Vanshika Yadav through advocate Sunny Kadian, claims that during the NEET undergraduate examination in Rajasthan that the question paper was allegedly leaked before the exam and incorrect question papers were distributed to candidates, leading to confusion and chaos.
The plea further alleges that more alarming incidents occurred in Patna, Bihar, where numerous individuals were arrested by the state police based on credible information that they had received the question paper a day before the examination.
The NTA is expected to announce the NEET UG 2024 result on June 14, 2024. The NEET UG result 2024 link will be activated on the official website, exams.nta.ac.in/NEET. Students will have to use their login credentials such as registration number and date of birth to download the NEET UG result 2024.
