NEET UG 2025 Counselling: MCC pushes round 2 counselling, extends round 1 resignation deadline to Sept 3

Enrol NowThe Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has again stalled the round 2 NEET UG counselling 2025 process, which was scheduled to begin today. Instead, the resignation facility for round 1 seat-allotted candidates has been extended to September 3.
After rescheduling the application process multiple times, the MCC announced the NEET UG round 1 seat allotment for 15% AIQ seats on August 12. Selected candidates are required to complete the document verification, fee payment, and college reporting process before the deadline.
Candidates are shortlisted based on merit obtained in the NEET UG exam. Such candidates are given the option to accept, decline, or opt for upgradation in further rounds. This is crucial for the next round of selection as the seats that will be dropped will be added in the round 2 seat matrix.
The resignation facility for candidates allotted seats in round 1 NEET UG counselling has been extended up to 5 pm on September 3. The MCC recently decided to allow such candidates to resign from the allotted seat without forfeiture of security deposit .
Although the NEET UG round 2 registration 2025 has been delayed, the MCC has added 13 new disability centres for PwD candidates to get certificates for round 2 counselling.
“PwD potal for generation of PwD certificate for Round 2 of UG Counselling 2025 is active now and available up to 05:00 P.M of 5th September 2025. PwD Candidates can visit the designated disability centres of MCC for obtaining PwD certificate as per their eligibility specified by NMC norms,” the MCC latest notice said.
