NEET UG Counselling dates 2024 soon; details on MCC 15% AIQ, state quota, AACCC allotment

NEW DELHI: Now that the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET UG 2024) revised results 2024 are declared, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will announce the NEET UG counselling 2024 dates soon. “The details and schedule of NEET UG counselling would be available on the websites of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and Medical Education Directorates of States as applicable,” the NTA NEET UG results 2024 notification read.

As per the NEET re-revised results 2024, the number of NEET toppers 2024 reduced from 61 to 17 due to the controversial physics question. The NTA declared the NEET UG results on June 4, in which 67 candidates were announced as toppers. The unprecedented number of toppers was a result of grace marks awarded to 44 candidates for a physics question and 6 for time loss in the exam.

Of the total number of 23.33 lakh candidates who appeared in the medical entrance exam, 13,15,853 candidates have qualified the exam. The ministry of health and family welfare earlier this year informed that a total of 1,08,940 MBBS seats are in India. The seats will be filled through the MCC NEET counselling 2024 and state counselling rounds.

MCC NEET UG counselling 2024

The MCC will hold four rounds of 15% All India Quota (AIQ) online counselling for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other UG medical courses. The remaining seats are filled by the state counselling committees.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) will conduct the NEET counselling 15% of AIQ seats, deemed universities, central universities, seats of ESIC and AFMC, BHU, and AMU. The MCC NEET counselling dates 2024 will be notified on the official website, mcc.nic.in.

State quota MBBS seats

For state quota and other seats falling under the ambit of states, the respective state counselling committees will conduct the allotment process. Candidates should apply to their domicile states, and a merit list as per state rules, based on NEET All India Rank, will be prepared.

The NEET state counselling for private medical colleges will also be conducted by the concerned state counselling authority.

AACCC counselling 2024

The All-India Ayush Central Counselling Committee (AACCC), on the other hand, will be conducting the counselling for AIQ with respect to Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS), and Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS) courses under the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM).

The AACCC will also be responsible for conducting counselling for AIQ with respect to Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) under National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH).
