NEET UG round 1 counselling registration 2026 starts at mcc.ac.in; seat allotment result on August 17

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has started the registration process for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) round 1 counselling 2026. To access the form, candidates need to enter the details, including NEET UG password and password.

Applicants who need admission in MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing programmes under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) as well as 100% seats in Deemed Universities, Central Universities, AIIMS and JIPMER can submit their application form on the official website of MCC at mcc.ac.in.

As per the official NEET UG counselling schedule, the last date to register is August 12, 2026 till 3 pm but applicants can make the payment till 6 pm. The choice filling can be done from August 6 to August 13, 2026. The round 1 seat allotment result will be announced on August 17, 2026.

To fill out the NEET MCC form, applicants need to follow the steps given below:

• Visit the official website of MCC at mcc.ac.in
• On the homepage, go to the ‘UG Medical’ option
• Click on the New Registration for UG Counselling 2026 link under Candidate Activity Board
• Enter the details, including NEET UG password & password and then submit
• Fill out the form, make the payment, upload the necessary documents and then submit
• Finish the choice-filling process by selecting the preferred colleges and courses
• Lock the choices and then submit before the deadline
• Save the conformation page for further reference

NEET UG Counselling 2026: Major changes

This year, MCC introduced a series of technology-driven measures aimed at streamlining the admission process and reducing the need for multiple visits to allotted institutions. Among the key changes in a one-time physical reporting system.

Under the revised process, applicants who opt to freeze their allotted seat will have to report to the assigned institute to finish admission facilities. Those choosing the float option, however, can participate in subsequent rounds of counselling after completing online document verification and will be required to report physically only if they retain a seat after the third round.

An online resignation facility is also introduced, allowing candidates to surrender their allotted seats through the counselling portal without visiting their respective colleges.

In addition, the counselling process now includes online document verification, digitised NRI admissions, enhanced support for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), strengthened cybersecurity safeguards, and an upgraded grievance redressal mechanism.
