Amit Shah to launch education-sector initiatives tomorrow to mark 2 years of NEP

NEP 2020: An event will be organised at Dr Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi and also streamed live on YouTube, social media handles of MoE.

NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch new initiatives related to the education sector tomorrow, July 29, to mark the second anniversary of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in the presence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Ministers of State for Education Subhas Sarkar, Annpurna Devi, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh and Minister of State for Skill Development Rajeev Chandrasekhar will also be present on the occasion.

The event will be organised at Dr Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. It will also be streamed live on YouTube and other social media handles of the Ministry of Education.

The initiatives to be launched will cover the entire spectrum of education and skill development verticals including areas like digital education, innovation, synergising education and skill development, teacher training and assessment. Apart from the launch, the programme will also witness cultural performance by students and address of the gathering by dignitaries. Deliberations will also centre around the journey of implementation of NEP 2020.

“The new initiatives of EduMinOfIndia will be inaugurated on 29th July 2022 in the august presence of Hon'ble Home & Cooperation Minister Shri AmitShah ji, Hon'ble Education Minister Shri dpradhanbjp ji to mark the completion of two years of transformational reforms of (#NEP2020 ),” the education ministry tweeted.

“Tomorrow, the National Education Policy 2020 is completing its two years. To celebrate the 2nd Anniversary of the #NEP2020, a programme will be held at Ambedkar Bhawan, New Delhi. Stay tuned!,” MoE said earlier.

Last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation to mark the completion of one year of NEP 2020. PM Modi launched various initiatives such as Academic Bank of Credit, Vidya Pravesh - 3-month school entry module for Class 1, Indian sign language as a second language subject in secondary education, NISHTHA 2 for teacher training, SAFAL, CBSE assessment framework, National Digital Educational Architecture, National Education Technology Forum, etc.

NEP 2020 was approved by the Union Cabinet last year replacing the education policy framed in 1986.
