NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation to mark the completion of one year of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Narendra Modi announced in a social media post on Monday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said: "At 4:30 PM today, I would be taking part in an interesting programme in which we will mark one year of the National Education Policy and add momentum to the efforts towards #TransformingEducation. Key initiatives relating to NEP will be launched."

The education ministry said in a social media post that on the first anniversary of NEP 2020, PM Narendra Modi will launch multiple key initiatives.

Prime Minister Modi will be launching initiatives such as Academic Bank of Credit, Vidya Pravesh - 3-month school entry module for Class 1, Indian sign language as a second language subject in secondary education, NISHTHA 2 for teacher training, SAFAL, CBSE assessment framework, National Digital Educational Architecture, National Education Technology Forum, and others.
NEP 2020 was approved by the Union Cabinet last year replacing the education policy framed in 1986. It aims to transform the education system of India paving the way for transformational reforms in schools and higher educational institutions.

Along with Vidya Pravesh, a three-month play based school preparation module for Class 1 students, PM Modi ended the event with the thought that the new education policy 2020 will help students, teachers, and the youth of the country for making India a global superpower.
NISHTHA 2.O will help teachers learn new technologies in order to pass them to students. Modi asks as many teachers as there are to participate in this programme.
More than 3 lakh students need sign languages to gain education. Sign language has been added as a language through NEP 2020.
Now engineering educational institutions will admit more than 600 students in BTech courses in regional languages.
New guidelines have been added in NEP 2020 for skill development. New courses have been added to the universities for developing skills of students across universities. Mother language has been added in education system for higher educational institutions.
Academic Bank of Credit will bring a revolutionary change. Any student can choose any stream and leave it at any point. Through Structure assessment for analysing learning levels, SAFAL, assessments of students will be done which will help them to not be afraid of choosing new streams in education.
Indian youth is giving a new face to the digital India. NEP 2020 makes them believe that the country supports them. National Digital Education Architecture and National Technology Forum will play a big role in improving digital technologies of India.
NEP 2020 is completely future-ready with new initiatives. Students have adapted to the new education system. Education ministry has made many efforts for the new online education like DIKSHA portal, says PM.
