NEW DELHI: In conversation with Careers360, the Director-General of the National Testing Agency has confirmed that the exam of UGC NET and CSIR NET will be conducted after July 2020. In view of the current COVID-19 crisis, conducting exams seem impracticable considering the social distancing norms. Earlier, on May 15, NTA has again extended the last date for submission of online application for CSIR NET and UGC NET 2020.
UGC NET and CSIR NET to be conducted after July
“We are not doing things on our own and are constantly consulting with the organisation with whom we are conducting the test. Therefore, discussions are on and I’m sure very shortly we will be able to come up with fresh dates. However, these dates will only be after July”- said Vineet Joshi.
Exam Day Safety Guidelines
In the conversation, Joshi also confirmed that collective security measures will be taken by the authority at the exam centres, therefore aspirants, as well as, their parents should not worry about the safety measures. Instead, candidates should focus on their preparations. Speaking of the safety measure, the NTA Director General has also advised the parents and the guardians to not visit the exam centre unless it is extremely necessary. In fact, the guidelines for the students for the day of exams will also be released before the exam.
CSIR NET 2020 will be conducted twice every year to determine the eligibility of candidates as Assistant Professors in the faculty of science and to award JRF (Junior Research Fellowship). Keep in touch with Careers360 to know the fresh dates for the exams.
