NETS 2022: NTA extends SHRESHTA scheme application correction deadline

Students who registered for NETS 2022 can make correction in the application forms on the official website, shreshta.nta.nic.in till 5pm of April 18.

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the last date to make corrections in the application form for National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA (NETS 2022) for admission in Classes 9 and 11. Scheme for residential education for students in high classes in targeted areas (SHRESHTA) provides for high-quality education for meritorious SC students in CBSE-affiliated residential schools.

“Regarding the submission of the online application form of scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Schools in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA (NETS) -2022 for admission in Class 9 and 11 whose parental annual income is up to Rs 2.5 lakh, it is hereby informed that the last date for Correction in Application form (Correction Window) has been extended from April 16, 2022 to April 18, 2022,” said an official notification from NTA.

Students who registered for NETS 2022 can edit their application forms on the official website, shreshta.nta.nic.in till 5pm of April 18. "The candidates are requested to undertake the correction(s) carefully as no further chance of correction will be provided. The candidates and their parents are advised to keep visiting the NTA website for latest updates," the notification further said. Approximately 3,000 seats would be provided in Class 9 and 11 fully funded by the central government.

It also aims to improve foundational learning and reduce dropout rates, with special attention to girls and socially-disadvantaged groups, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

The ministry informed that the NETS 2022 will be held online on May 7, 2022 and there is no exam fee. The exam will be held in all states and union territories and the medium of the exam will be Hindi and English.

NETS 2022: Eligibility criteria

  • Students belonging to scheduled caste (SC) studying in Class 8 and 10 in the current academic year 2021-22.

  • Parental annual income is up to Rs 2.5 lakh
