Newcastle University announces Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship

NEW DELHI: Newcastle University, United Kingdom, has announced 15 scholarships for outstanding applicants from India.

The scholarship is available for full-time students of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in 2020-21. Under this, 13 students will get a 50 percent waiver of tuition fees and two, full waiver of fees. It also includes “automatic partial tuition fee scholarships” worth £1,500 to £5,000, said the statement issued by Newcastle University.

Opportunities for Indian students

To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must be an Indian national, assessed as an international student in the UK for fee purposes, hold an admission offer for an undergraduate or postgraduate programme for the 2020-21 academic year. There is, however, a list of non-eligible courses for both types of scholarships. The application process will be open till March 27 and May 29, 2020.

In addition to the Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship, Newcastle University participates in the Commonwealth and Chevening Scholarships schemes which are also available to Indian applicants.
