NICMAR University, L&T collaborate will offer co-branded MTech programmes in construction technology and management and infrastructure project management.
NEW DELHI: The National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMER) University and Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) have signed an agreement to offer co-branded MTech programmes in infrastructure project management and construction technology and management.
NICMAR, in collaboration with L&T EduTech, is set to introduce two-year MTech programs at its Pune campus starting from the academic year 2024-25. The official agreement between L&T and NICMAR was recently signed at the L&T EduTech headquarters located in Chennai. As per the official press release, this partnership marks a significant step towards enhancing educational offerings in the field of technology and engineering, providing students with access to high-quality education and industry-relevant skills.
Customised learning and digital skilling
Speaking on the occasion, Sushma S Kulkarni, vice chancellor of NICMAR University, said, “I strongly believe that the partnership will be helpful to both organisations in developing a talent pool that possess a unique blend of technical complex problem-solving and managerial skills."
C Jayakumar, executive vice president and CHRO, L&T, said, "These courses, focused on core engineering domains, are tailored for customised learning and digital skilling and are essentials for students having passion for fundamental engineering disciplines. The postgraduate course will significantly enhance their skills and equip them to face real-world challenges."
Hands-on experience
As per the university, the MTEch course will provide students with hands-on experience and exposure to market dynamics. The press release read, “The growing demand for skilled professionals in specialised areas underscores the significance of this partnership which seeks to bridge the gap between the academia and the industry by preparing postgraduate students with hands-on training and exposure to industry dynamics. This is in line with L&T’s constant pursuit for enhancing skills of early-career talent and make them ready for the industry.”
