NEW DELHI: The National Institute of Design is now going to conduct the NID DAT 2022 mains exam for the BDes and MDes admission in hybrid mode due to the COVID pandemic. As per the notification, the NID DAT mains 2022 is scheduled to be conducted in the last week of June 2022. However, the exam date and time of the DAT mains is yet to be announced.
“Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation prevailing in the country and the uncertainties arising thereof, the NID DAT 2022 mains exam for the admission cycle 2022-23 will be held in HYBRID mode,” states the official notice.
Students will be shortlisted for the mains exam based on the NID DAT prelims result 2022. NID will announce the NID DAT 2022 prelims result in the last week of April on its official website - admissions.nid.edu.

The candidates who are shortlisted for DAT mains would be required to appear for the DAT mains exam (studio test). The studio test shall be conducted in different cities across the country. NID DAT mains test centre details will be available on the NID admissions website soon.
The DAT mains exam will consist of a studio test and an interview. The studio test will be conducted at the respective campuses of NID in the offline mode while the Interviews will be conducted in the online mode.
The candidates who are shortlisted for DAT Mains would be required to upload a statement of purpose (SoP) and Portfolio in the specific time/window which will be intimated to them on their registered email id or result page. Separate SoPs and Portfolio to be uploaded for each discipline shortlisted for. The statement of purpose (SoP) should contain a maximum of 100 words (for each question) and the same will have to be uploaded as a single pdf file, not exceeding 2 mb file size.
Such shortlisted candidates will also be required to upload a digital copy of their portfolio as a single pdf file, not exceeding 10 mb file size.
