NIOS class X and XII 2018 results show success rate of over 39% and 31%

NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 18, 2018: The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) had declared the result for classes X and XII examinations on December 15, 2018 for the exams held in the month of October/ November. As per the media reports, this year out of 1,18,806 students who appeared for class X exam, 46,627 number of students have passed making the rate of success is over 39.25%. For class XII exam, out of 1,74,352 number of students who appeared, the number of students who passed is 55,416 making it a good 31.78%.

Saumya Rajan, Director of National Institute of Open Schooling Regional Office, Pune, was quoted as saying that “Students have flexibility in choices which allows them to choose from a variety of subjects. There are a lot of options in vocational education too.” He further added that there has been an increase in the number of students opting for NIOS in recent years.

Some details issued by NIOS regarding the course specifications mention that all students who have enrolled have to compulsorily take up 30 contact lectures. They have the flexibility to appear for lectures which are generally conducted on weekends or holidays at the school closest to them.

Students can download the results online from the official website of NIOS - https://results.nios.ac.in.

Note: Students will get their original marksheets within a month from the result declaration from their respective study centres.
