NEW DELHI: National Institute of Open Schooling has released the Classes 10 and 12 NIOS evaluation criteria 2021 for the June session. This year, students will get marks based on their past performance and tutor-marked assignments (TMA). NIOS result 2021 will be compiled as per the evaluation criteria.

This year, NIOS has cancelled NIOS Class 10th and 12th exams in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Like other state boards, NIOS will promote the Class 10th and 12th students to the next classes on the basis of performance and internal tutor marked assessments.

NIOS evaluation criteria 2021 for Class 10 and 12

  • For learners already passed in 4 or more subjects: The average of the best three subjects of the learners will be considered for calculating the marks of the subjects registered for the June 2021 session.

  • For learners already passed in 2 or 3 subjects: The average of the best two subjects of the learners will be considered for calculating the marks of the subjects registered for the June 2021 session.

  • For learners already passed in 1 subject and TMA not available, the average performance of the last three public examinations of NIOS in the same course and performance of passed subject will be considered for calculating the marks of the subjects registered for the June 2021 session.

  • For learners who are appearing for the first time having no past performance or having only one passed subject and having TMA in the subject registered for June 2021: The internal assessment already available will be considered for calculating the marks of the subjects registered for the June 2021 session.

    • NIOS 12th result 2021 will be calculated by adopting a formula based on the mean of maximum theory marks and minimum pass marks in theory multiplied by the TMA ratio (Marks obtained in TMA/Total TMA marks in the subject)

    • NIOS 10th result 2021 will be calculated by adopting a formula based on the mean of maximum marks and minimum pass marks in the subject multiplied by the TMA ratio.

Any learner who is not satisfied with the NIOS assessment scheme will be given an option to appear in the next public examination or through on-demand examination (ODE). These exams will be held when the situation becomes conducive for conducting the exams.
