NIT Trichy launches MA English programme; applications available online

NEW DELHI: The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Tiruchirappalli has launched M.A. English (Language and Literature) and will start offering classes for the programme from July 2020 session. The institute has released an advertisement in this regard and is seeking applications for the programmes. According to the dates announced, aspiring candidates fill the application form in online mode till June 15. To apply for the programme, the candidates have to visit the official website of NIT Trichy and fill the application form.
The advertisement reads, “National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (NIT-T) invites applications from eligible candidates for admission to M.A. English (Language and Literature) for the academic year 2020-21. The programme is a brand of its own in the country offering a unique blend of courses in Language and Literature. These courses will equip students with a wide range of skills such as problem-solving, critical/creative thinking and soft skills.”

The course will be offered under the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. As per the institute officials, the faculty members at the department are professionally recognised scholars and are known for their committed teaching, extraordinary research, close mentoring and individualised exploration of research projects. The institute also claims that they rigorously pursue research in niche areas including Digital Humanities, Language and Genetics, Health Humanities, and English Language and Literature.
Apart from these details and dates, the institute has not announced any other detail about the admission procedure or dates related to the exam or counselling.
This is for the first time that NIT Trichy is offering any programme in MA. Apart from launching this new programme, the institute offers courses like B.Tech, B.Arch at the undergraduate level, M.Tech. MSc., M.Arch, MBA, MCA at postgraduate level and PhD courses in various engineering disciplines at the doctorate level.
