The torch march began from Mukherjee Nagar, participants raised slogans against the Centre's handling of the education sector

New Delhi: The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) on Friday organised the "Mashaal March -- Chhatron Ki Goonj" in Delhi, with hundreds of students participating to protest against the alleged failures of the Union Government in the education sector, members said. The march began from Batra Cinema in Mukherjee Nagar, with participants carrying torches and raising slogans against the Centre's handling of the education sector.
The protesters alleged issues such as repeated paper leaks, examination-related irregularities and administrative failures by the NTA had adversely affected the future of lakhs of students. The demonstrators also sought greater transparency, accountability and fairness in the examination system, saying students deserved an education framework that ensured equal opportunities and protected their aspirations.

According to the organisers, students from universities and colleges across Delhi participated in the march, which they described as a show of youth solidarity over issues concerning examinations and higher education.
