The JEE Mains 2026 January 28 shift 2 paper was easier as compared to the shift 1 paper. Students who appeared for the afternoon shift found Mathematics to be the most challenging, while Chemistry and Physics were relatively easy. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has concluded the JEE Mains 2026 day 5 exams for BTech admissions today.

Questions in the JEE Mains 2026 January 28 shift 2 were mostly statement-based. The Mathematics section was lengthy, while Chemistry was balanced and Physics was formula-based.
The testing agency conducted the JEE Mains 2026 session 1 for engineering aspirants on January 21, 22, 23, 24, and 28. The January 28 exam will be held for BArchitecture and BPlanning admissions in dual shifts.

The overall difficulty level of the Mathematics section was moderate and had lengthy questions. “Several questions needed careful calculation, which made proper time management very important,” as per students’ reactions.
As compared to Chemistry and Physics, the Mathematics part was the toughest. However, the shift 2 difficulty level was easier than the morning shift.
