NTA NCET 2024 registration deadline extended till May 15; exam on June 12

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the registration deadline for the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2024. Candidates will now be able to apply for the NTA NCET 2024 till May 15 through the official website, ncet.samarth.ac.in.
Earlier, the last date to submit the NCET 2024 application form was April 30, 2024. The NTA has also extended the date for the application form correction window. Candidates can make corrections to their NCET 2024 application forms from May 16 to May 18. Initially, the form correction period was scheduled from May 2 to May 4.
The NCET 2024 exam is scheduled to be held on June 12. Candidates who have passed the Class 12 or equivalent examination, or are scheduled to appear in 2024, regardless of their age, are eligible to appear for the exam. “The dates of the advanced city slip, admit card and declaration of result will be displayed on the NCET portal at the appropriate time,” NTA said.
Candidates from the general category will be required to pay an application fee of Rs 1,200 to register for the NCET 2024. Candidates from other backward classes - non-creamy layer (OBC-NCL) and economically weaker section (EWS) will need to submit Rs 1,000, while scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST), persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD), and third gender students will have to pay Rs 650 as NCET 2024 registration fee.
The NTA conducts the NCET 2024 for admission to the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) at participating central and state universities, as well as other institutions, including Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs), for the academic session 2024-25.
