NEW DELHI; June 4: The result of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is expected to be announced by tomorrow. As per the official brochure, the result for undergraduate medical entrance exam is to be released by June 5, 2019, on ntaneet.nic.in. National Testing Agency - NTA has successfully conducted entrance exam for MBBS and BDS admissions on May 5, across India. It was also re-conducted on May 20 for aspirants from Odisha, Karnataka and Siliguri. Out of 15,19,375 a total of 14,10,754 students wrote the entrance exam for admission to around 66,771 MBBS, 27,148 BDS, 449 veterinary and AYUSH seats.

The result will be made available in the form of scorecards. Only candidates securing the minimum qualifying percentile in NEET entrance exam will be considered passed. NTA has already specified the minimum percentile to qualify the NEET 2019, along with the application form on November 1, 2018. Every general category candidate should secure 50th percentile, while for SC/ST/OBC it is the 40th percentile. Aspirants belonging to Unreserved Persons with Disabilities (UR-PwD) category must secure at least 45th percentile. It must be noted that NEET results is also a gateway for applicants who wish to pursue their medical career abroad.

Here are the steps to download NEET result 2019:

  • Go to the official website of NTA NEET - ntaneet.nic.in

  • Click on the ‘view NEET (UG) 2019 Result’ tab

  • Enter the application number, date of birth and security pin

  • Scorecard appears on the screen

  • Cross-check the details printed on the result

  • Download and take at least three to four printouts of NEET UG 2019 result

NTA NEET Result 2019 - Tie-Breaking Mechanism

The result of NEET 2019 mentions the name, subject-wise marks, total marks obtained, percentile scores, All India Rank, category rank, equivalent cutoff scores and qualifying status of candidate. While determining the NEET All India Rank, if the marks of two or more aspirants is equal, NTA authority will follow the tie-breaking method, which includes:

1. Higher marks in Biology: Students with higher marks in Biology in NEET exam will be allotted higher rank.

2. Higher marks in Chemistry: The higher marks of aspirants in exam in Chemistry will be considered for a better NEET AIR.

3. Less incorrect marks: If the tie still exists, candidates with less number of incorrect responses will be awarded higher rank as compared to others.

4. Age: At last, an applicant elder in age will be given better rank preference in the merit list.

NEET Counselling 2019

The test takers qualifying national-level medical entrance test will be deemed to be eligible to appear for counselling and seat allotment process. Aspirants selected under 15% All India Quota seats in government MBBS & BDS colleges will be allotted seats through centralised counselling by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). While, the remaining 85% state quota seats will be transferred to the respective state counselling authorities for admission to medical and dental courses based on NEET scores.

However, all the seats from deemed and central universities will be allotted by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of MCC. While, the seat allotment in private universities will be done by state counselling committees on the basis of NEET UG AIR.

NEET 2019 EWS quota

On April 25, 2019, the health ministry in consultation with Board of Governors (BoG) in supersession of Medical Council of India (MCI) has notified that the 10% reservation for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) will be considered for UG medical admissions from current academic session 2019-20. The EWS category candidates must secure at least the 50th percentile in NTA medical entrance exam. They are required to indicate their category at the time of counselling registration.
