The PG round 1 seat allotment result will be out on August 7, 2026 and the classes will start from August 21, 2026
The Department of Higher Education (DHE), Government of Odisha, has released the counselling schedule for the online postgraduate (PG) admission process 2026-27 on the official website of SAMS at samsodisha.gov.in. The admission is offered by the state public universities and colleges participating in the Student Academic Management System (SAMS).
Candidates who have finished their graduation or an equivalent qualification from a university recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) can apply for PG courses.
According to the schedule, aspirants can update their graduation or equivalent score and lock their preference till August 2, 2026. The PG classes will start from August 21, 2026 and the final admission and document verification will be done from September 1 to 2, 2026.

About SAMS PG admission
SAMS PG admission is the centralised postgraduate admission process conducted by the Higher Education Department, Government of Odisha, through SAMS. Under the system, applicants apply online through a Common Application Form (CAF), with admission based on the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET) merit. The portal also manages merit lists, seat allotment, choice filling and admission to participating universities and colleges across the state.
