KOTA: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla extended New Year greetings on Wednesday and said that the students who study here become leaders. Addressing the media, the Bundi MP urged parents to send their children to study in Kota and assured better education and cultural upbringing.
He said that the students who study here would be treated as sons and daughters of the Kota city. He said that some misunderstandings might have spoiled the environment but Kota provides a safe environment for the students.
"New year with new commitment, new resolution and new ideas. We can contribute to the progress of the country by making collective efforts," Birla said.

Emphasising cleanliness, Birla also called upon collective efforts to keep the city and village clean and green. He added that efforts are underway to highlight Hadoti as a tourist destination with smooth roads and train connectivity.
He claimed that five tigers will soon be relocated to Ramgarh Visdhari Tiger Reserve and Mukundara Hills Tiger Reserve from Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. He added that Kota would soon have air connectivity and the works for a new airport are in progress, Birla added.
