NEW DELHI: The Performance, Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development (PARAKH) Parakh Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024, a survey involving students from Classes 3, 6 and 9 will be conducted tomorrow, December 4. The survey aims to assess the competencies developed by students at the end of foundational, preparatory and middle stages providing a comprehensive analysis of India's educational progress in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The survey will evaluate the academic competencies of students in in over 88,000 schools across 782 districts. The survey will provide insights on enhancing the quality and inclusivity of education.
Around 23 lakh students across 36 states and UTs will be covered in the PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024. Students of Grades 3, 6, and 9 will be assessed in the subjects, Language, Mathematics, Science, The World Around Us and Social Science.
The test would be conducted in 23 mediums covering Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Bodo, English, Mizo, Garo and Khasi.
"For smooth and fair conduct of the survey 94,878 Field Investigators, 75,565 Observers, 3128 District Level Officers and 180 State Nodal Officers from 36 States and Union Territories have been appointed", the official press release read.
Teachers of the chosen students are required to complete the teacher questionnaire, while the head of the institution must fill out the school questionnaire. Furthermore, a team consisting of an observer and a field investigator will visit the school prior to the morning assembly to monitor the process.
The results of PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024 will play a vital role in shaping educational reforms and influencing future policy decisions. The assessment employs a robust methodology that blends traditional paper-based testing with advanced OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) technology, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
