Education ministry spent Rs 84 crore for Pariksha Pe Charcha in last 5 years

The government’s initiative, Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) programme has witnessed a remarkable rise in participation, growing from just 22,000 in 2018 to over 5 crore participants in 2025. As per the data, a total budget of Rs 84 crore has been spent for Pariksha Pe Charcha over the past five years, during which 8.05 crore students, teachers and parents participated, including a peak of 5.11 crore in 2025.

As per the ministry of education, participation in the PPC event rose from 22,000 in 2018 to 22.6 crore in 2024, and further increased to 35.6 crore registrations in 2025, with more than 1.55 crore colleagues taking part in various activities during PPC 2025 from January 12 to 23, bringing the total participation to over 5 crore.

The programme extends its reach beyond students, including parents and teachers as part of the wider school ecosystem. PPC encourages empathetic behaviour, goes beyond a once-a-year interaction, and has quickly become a “Jan Andolan.”

Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025

As per data from the ministry of education, participation in the Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) programme has increased steadily over the last five years. In 2021, Rs 7.28 crore was spent, Rs 6.00 crore was spent, reaching 13.93 lakh participants at a cost of Rs 43.07 per participant.

In 2022, participation grew to 15.74 lakh with an expenditure of Rs 8.16 crore. By 2023, 38.80 lakh participants were reached with Rs 27.70 crore spent.

The programme expanded significantly in 2024 and 2025, engaging 2.26 crore and 5.11 crore participants, respectively, while the cost per participant fell sharply to Rs 7.44 in 2024 and Rs 3.68 in 2025, highlighting both its growing reach and efficiency.

The Government measures the impact of the PPC through participation, digital reach, post-event feedback, student well-being initiatives, inclusivity, and programme review.

Participation has increased from 22,000 in 2018 to more than 50 million in 2025. Sessions are broadcast on television, digital platforms, and social media, while states, schools, and education systems provide feedback on learning outcomes.

The ministry said that Pariksha Pe Charcha is part of a larger movement called ' Exam Warriors ' led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which aims to create a stress-free environment for the youngsters.
