PG Diploma in Plant Protection launched by Sharda University with Dhanuka Agritech

NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 21: Depicting a unique industry-academia collaboration, a one-year Post Graduate Diploma in Plant Protection (PGDPP) has been launched by Sharda University, Greater Noida in conjunction with Dhanuka Agritech Limited. In effect of this, the representatives of both the institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on December 20, 2018. 

The PGDPP program is directed towards the growth of the agribusiness sector and at the same time addressing the unemployment problem in relation to the agricultural science graduates. This specially trained manpower will take the much needed best plant protection technology for the benefit of the farmers and the country.

Under PGDPP, the students will be taught theory, practical and business aspects of pests, diseases and weed problems of the field and horticultural crops and their management by Sharda University. Also, they will be given a two-month field training by Dhanuka who will also pay a stipend and allowances to the students.

15 of the students, after completion of their course, will be placed on a permanent roll of the company as Frontline staff in Business Development or Sales Department as per the band and compensation structure of Dhanuka Agritech Limited.

R.G. Aggrawal, Charman, Dhanuka Agritech and Professor Hari Shankar Gaur, Dean School of Basic Science and Research signed the MoU in the presence of Kamal Kumar, Advisor, Dhanuka, P.K. Gupta, Chancellor, Y.K. Gupta, Pro-Chancellor, Prashant Gupta, Executive Director, Prof. G.R.C. Reddy, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Surya Prakash Rao, Dean, Academics & Research, D.L.N. Shastri, Director, Corporate Affairs & Strategy and other senior officers of Sharda University.
