'Biggest strength of our country is youth': PM Modi launches recruitment drive for 10 lakh people

Central govt gives appointment letters to over 75,000 newly-inducted appointees at Rozgar Mela, new recruitments will join into 38 govt departments.

NEW DELHI: Prime minister Narendra Modi launched the Rozgar Mela 2022, a recruitment drive for 10 lakh people through video conferencing today. Over 75,000 youths received appointment letters by the central government. Interested candidates can check official websites of the recruitment boards for Rozgar mela registration online at -upsc.gov.in, ssc.nic.in

While addressing the appointees, Modi talked about the recruitment drive and how Rozgar mela will become a new link anchoring itself to the country's self-employment and employment campaigns that have been launched in the past eight years. To commemorate 75 years of independence, the government decided to give appointment letters to 75,000 youngsters under the initiative.

The Rozgar Mela initiative is a significant step towards the Prime Minister's commitment to provide jobs to India's youth. 38 Indian ministries and departments are working towards filling up existing vacancies against sanctioned posts in mission mode.

There are a total of 23,876 of group A, 25,836 of group B and 7.6 Lakh of Group C vacant posts which will be filled by the end of year 2023. A total of 10,000 posts will be given collectively by the different government departments such as defence, railway among others. The new recruitments will be selected from all over India in posts including central armed force personnel, sub inspector, constable, LDC, steno, PA, income tax inspectors and MTS, etc.

Explaining the rationale of the Rozgar mela, the PM said that the tradition of giving appointment letters at once must be started so that a collective attitude to complete projects in time develops in the departments. Multiple National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled states will conduct such melas in the future. The process of selection has been simplified made tech-enabled for expeditious recruitment.

Central government campaigns for employment

India leaped from the 10th to the 5th position of the biggest economy in the world due to the reforms that were undertaken in the last eight years. The prime minister highlighted the importance of skilling India's youth for the future. “Today we are emphasising the most on skill development of youth. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, a huge campaign is going on to train the youth according to the needs of the industries of the country”, he said. Kaushal Vikas Kendras all over the country and hundreds of higher education institutes have been opened under the programme.

Over 1.25 crore youngsters have beaten trained under the skill India abhiyan. The central government is simultaneously working on multiple fronts to create more job opportunities in the country. He also adds that the youth of the nation is the driving force behind making India a develped nation.

The Prime Minister urged the new appointees to always keep their ‘Kartavya Paths’ in mind as they are being appointed for the service of citizens of the country. "In the 21st century India Government job is not just about facilities but a commitment and a golden opportunity to serve the people from every nook and corner of the country in a time-bound manner," he concluded.
