PM YASASVI Scholarship offers up to Rs 1.25 lakh; applications open for OBC students in Class 9, 11

PM YASASVI scheme provides financial aid to eligible OBC students in schools with a 100 per cent pass rate in Class 10 and 12 board exams. To apply, students should register through the NSP OTR app with Aadhaar-based face authentication.

The National Scholarship Portal has opened applications for the PM YASASVI Central Sector Scheme of top-class education in schools for OBC students for the 2025-26 academic year. Eligible students can register for the PM YASASVI Central Sector Scheme through the national scholarship portal at scholarship.gov.in.

The last date to submit the online applications for PM YASASVI scheme is August 31, 2025. Under this scheme, eligible students from the Other Backwards Class (OBC) community studying in select top-performing schools can avail of financial assistance to support their education.

As per the official notice, students studying in schools that consistently record a 100 per cent pass rate in Class 10 and Class 12 board exams are considered eligible under the scheme. To qualify, applicants should belong to the OBC category and have a parental annual income of less than Rs 2.5 lakh.

PM YASASVI Scheme: Scholarship amount

The PM YASASVI scheme offers Rs 75,000 to Class 9 students and Rs 1,25,000 to those in Class 11. These amounts will be disbursed via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system to bank accounts linked with the applicant's Aadhaar.

“The applicant should visit the NSP portal and register themselves in NSP through "NSP OTR" app available in the Google Play store and perform Face-authentication for generating One Time Registration (OTR) number, which has been made mandatory for applying scholarship from the year 2024-25,” the official notice said.

To complete the OTR process, students will have to use their Aadhaar number along with the mobile number linked to it. For minor applicants who do not have Aadhaar, the parent’s Aadhaar must be provided.
