NEW DELHI, MAY 27: The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) will be conducting board exams for classes 5 and class 8 from the academic year 2019-20 onwards. Earlier, the exams were conducted under the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). The Punjab board in its latest update has announced about this change. PSEB has also released model question papers for the same for each subject on its official website. The syllabus for the board exam will remain the same, though the pattern of the exam may change.
According to the sources, PSEB spokesperson, Raminderjeet Singh said that “Earlier every school used to set-up their own question paper, now there will be uniformity and there might be changes for some schools. Keeping this in mind, we have uploaded the model test papers so that teachers will be aware of the type of questions that will be asked in the upcoming board examination and prepare students likewise.”
Highlights of PSEB Classes 5 and 8 Board Exams -
From the year 2020, Punjab Board will conduct exams of classes 5 and 8 at board level as per the order of state government
Students cannot be expelled till the completion of elementary education.
If the candidate fails to score at least 33 per cent, there will the retest.
PSEB and SCERT subject experts have prepared the model test papers for the students in order to understand the pattern of the upcoming board exam.
For the convenience of the students, the model test papers are prepared for all the subjects.
Students of classes 5 and 8 need not to worry for the upcoming board exams. They are advised to solve the model test papers which are uploaded on Punjab board official website- pseb.ac.in
