Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday hailed the success of 369 JEE Mains achievers in Mohali and asserted that students once constrained by a struggling system are now competing at the national level due to his government's 'Sikhya Kranti'. Describing the achievers as "Taare Zameen Par", Mann underscored that their performance is not an isolated feat but clear evidence that quality education, treated as a right rather than a privilege, combined with empowered teachers and sustained reforms, is driving a structural rise in Punjab's government schools.

Sharing a video snippet from the interaction on X, Mann stated, "At Vikas Bhawan, Mohali, 369 meritorious students who delivered outstanding performance in the JEE Mains examination were honoured today. Heartfelt congratulations to all the students, their parents, and teachers for this remarkable achievement, along with best wishes for their bright future."

Later, addressing a gathering of students, teachers, and parents, Mann said, "These students who have cleared JEE are 'Taare Zameen Par', symbolising the immense potential of Punjab's youth." "The 'Sikhya Kranti' launched by our government is now delivering tangible and inspiring results. These are not isolated successes but a reflection of systemic reforms aimed at revitalising government education in Punjab. For years, education did not receive the priority it deserved under previous regimes," he said.
"Infrastructure was weak, systems were outdated, and students lacked opportunities, due to which Punjab lagged in this immensely important field. However, our government has worked tirelessly with concerted efforts to reverse this trend," Mann said. The visible transformation in schools has changed the perception of government education. The success of these students is the strongest proof that when given the right environment, they can compete with the best in the country, Mann added.

Highlighting the achievements of students, Mann said, "Their dedication and perseverance have redefined expectations. These students have not only succeeded academically but have also become role models for countless others. They have demonstrated that excellence is not confined to elite institutions." Earlier, teachers often struggled due to a lack of infrastructure and administrative burdens, he said. "To address this, our government has introduced systemic changes, including the recruitment of campus managers to handle non-academic responsibilities.
Now, teachers can focus exclusively on teaching, which is their primary role. This has proved to be a game changer in transforming the education sector," he said. Emphasising community participation, Mann stated, "We have introduced Parent-Teacher Meetings in government schools to foster collaboration between parents and educators. Parents are now active stakeholders in their children's education. This partnership ensures better monitoring, guidance, and overall development of students."
