QS World Ranking 2024: IIT Kanpur ranks 36th globally, 2nd in domestic for data science and AI

QS World University Ranking 2024: IIT Kanpur has retained its 5th position in engineering and technology in India, ranking 93 globally.
NEW DELHI: QS World University Rankings 2024 was recently published by Quacquarelli Symonds, a higher education analytics firm. Notably, the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) has made its mark on the list of top institutions for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, securing a global ranking of 36th and 2nd position in India.
IIT Kanpur is advancing its AI-driven initiatives through collaborations with public and private entities. One significant partnership is with Samsung R and D Institute, Noida, under a five-year memorandum of understanding which is focused on joint research projects involving IIT Kanpur students, faculty, and Samsung engineers. The collaboration aids in fostering industry-aligned skill development.
Additionally, IIT Kanpur is advancing its AI-driven initiatives through collaborations with the upcoming Medical School and the Government of Uttar Pradesh to improve telemedicine using AI technology. Last year, the institute also partnered with the e-commerce giant Moglix to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in artificial intelligence.

QS World Ranking 2024: IIT Kanpur rank improved across all categories
IIT Kanpur has retained its 5th position in Engineering and Technology in India, ranking 93 globally. Noteworthy improvements include climbing from 96 to 84 in Computer Science, securing the 3rd position nationally, and maintaining the 5th position in Electrical Engineering.
Additionally, in Mathematics, it improved from 122 to 106, securing the 2nd position in India, and progressed in Natural Sciences from 248 to 215, maintaining the 5th position nationally. In Mechanical Engineering, it moved from 121 to 101, remaining 6th in India, and in Civil Engineering, it shifted from the 101-150 band to the 51-100 band.
