Download NowNEW DELHI: Delhi University’s anthropology department has been ranked among the top 51-100 positions in the QS World University Ranking by Subject 2024. The anthropology programme of DU is ranked 9 among all the Indian universities and institutions which have made it to the top of the QS ranking.

The English and modern languages programmes offered by DU is placed within 101-150 while Economics, History and Philosophy are ranked 151-200 globally in the ranking. There are six subjects of DU which are among the top 200 in the QS World University Ranking by Subject 2024. DU has emerged as the top rated institute in the country following the IITs in Mumbai, Delhi, Kharagpur, Kanpur, Madras, Guwahati and Roorkee, and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, which is placed third among Indian institutes.
“We are thrilled to see anthropology programmes to be recognised among the top institutions globally by QS. This achievement validates our commitment to providing outstanding education and research opportunities in anthropology,” the DU said. The anthropology department of DU recently organised the 19th IUAES-WAU World Anthropology Congress, in which nearly 600 international delegates participated over a week-long programme in October 2023.
