Two days after students from a school in Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur district staged a protest over lack of clean drinking water, now another set of students from a government school in Rajasthan’s Jalore district have held a protest outside their school over the lack of teachers for Classes 1, 2, 3.

They have also warned the authorities if their demands will not be met, they will extend the demonstration beyond the school premises and block the road.

A video of the protest, where a school girl can be seen firmly presenting the Rajasthan's government school students’ demands and other students sit in the background, holding placards in the school’s playground, has surfaced on social media.

'No teacher for Class 2, only two for Class 1'

“This is a primary school and there is no teacher for Class 2, and there are two teachers for Class 1, of which one is for history and another for Hindi subject. The history teacher is also managing the post of the principal. He does not have time to teach,” a student in the video said.

Refusing to open the school gates, the students have also warned the administration that if no government official or someone from the education department comes and talks to them, they would escalate their demonstration by blocking a nearby road, as per the video recording.

“We demand from the government to appoint teachers for Class 1, 2, 3, along with teachers for L1, L2, and L3. Until the government fulfils our demands, we will not open the school lock. If no one from the government or the authorities won’t show up by 10 am, we will then protest on the road and block it,” the student further said in the video.

Recently, another set of school students from Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh held a demonstration against their school administration, demanding safe drinking water, functional fans, clean toilets, and libraries.
