Rajasthan Class 9, 11 board exam 2026 from March 7; results on March 25: RBSE

The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has announced the exam and result dates for Class 9 and 11 annual examination 2026. The education board will conduct the RBSE Class 9 and 11 exams from March 7 and the results will be declared on March 25.

The Directorate of Secondary Education has also revised the dates for the annual examinations. As per the revised schedule, the RBSE Class 9 and 11 annual exams will be held from March 7 to 19.

The schedule has been revised in order to ensure the timely start of the academic session 2026 - 2027. Moreover, the board will begin the new academic session from April 1, as per the official statement.

RBSE changes Class 5, 8 Maths exam date

The Rajasthan elementary education department has also made a small revision in the annual examination time table for Class 5 and 8. The Mathematics exam will now be conducted on March 6.

The RBSE Class 5 Maths exam will be held from 1:30 pm to 4 pm. Class 8 exams will be conducted from February 19 to March 4.

As per the timetable, RBSE Class 5 exams will be held from February 20 to March 6. The department has also announced that deaf and mute students will be given extra 50 minutes.

In addition, the Rajasthan board has made a significant change in the education system and removed the automatic promotion system. As per the new rule, Classes 5 and 8 students will now have to obtain minimum marks to be promoted to the next class. If a student fails to score the passing marks, they will not be allowed to get promoted to another standard.

No automatic promotion system for Class 5, 8 students

The removal of the automatic promotion system took place with an objective of improving learning outcomes and reducing the dropout rate in schools, the board said in an official statement.

“The education department believes that automatic promotion without passing exams was reducing students' seriousness towards their studies, leading to difficulties in higher classes,” as per the official statement by the board.

The revised guidelines also state that if a student fails to obtain the minimum marks, they will be given a chance to take the exam within 45 days for improvement. Notably, special remedial teaching will also be provided.

“The implementation of this new system will increase accountability for students, teachers, and parents. The department says that this will lead to better monitoring of studies and improve the academic level of the children,” the statement added.
