RMS CET 2026 registration begins for Class 6, 9 admissions at military schools; apply by Oct 20

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the RMS CET 2026 applications for admission to Class 6 and 9 in Rashtriya Military Schools for the academic years 2027-28. Candidates can apply for the Rashtriya Military School Common Entrance Test (RMS CET) through the official website at exams.nta.nic.in/rmscet/.

The RMS CET 2026 application window will be open until October 20 up to 5 pm, while the deadline to submit registration fee is October 20 up to 11:50 pm.

The pen-and-paper RMS CET 2026 examination will be conducted on December 13 for admission to the residential English-medium Rashtriya Military Schools.

The schools are run by the Ministry of Defence to import quality education to the wards of defence personnel and civilians from classes 6 to 12.

RMS CET 2026: Eligibility, application fee

“These schools are the founding members of the Indian Public Schools' Conference (IPSC). There are five Rashtriya Military Schools (RMSs) located at Chail in the Shimla Hills of Himachal Pradesh, Ajmer and Dholpur in Rajasthan, Belgaum and Bengaluru in Karnataka,” the official notification read.

As per the eligibility criteria for admission to Class 6, students should be between 10 to 13 years as on March 31, 2027 (born between April 1, 2014 to March 31, 2017, both days inclusive).

While those seeking admission to Class 9, students should be between 13-16 years as on March 31, 2027 (born between April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2014, both days inclusive).

General, Other Backward Classes (OBC), OBC- Non Creamy Layer (NCL) category candidates should have to pay Rs 1,000 as RMS CET 2026 registration fee.

Those belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Wards of Armed forces personnel Killed in Action (KIA) category, can pay Rs 750 as application charges.

The examination fee is required to be paid online through the designated payment gateway using a credit, debit card, net-banking, or UPI.
