RPSC RAS Mains aspirants protest for exam postponement; row over alleged fake accounts used for publicity

RPSC RAS Mains candidates want exam scheduled for June 17 and 18 postponed over pending recruitment, inability to appear due to ‘Operation Sindoor’, lack of preparation.
The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) is under fire over publicity by fake sources and pending recruitment with several aspirants protesting on streets, demanding postponement of the Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) Mains exam scheduled for June 17 and 18.
Students are continuously protesting in the Jaipur University campus regarding the RAS Main exam with many on hunger strike. Amid this, the commission issued RPSC RAS Mains admit card 2025.
After RPSC released the RAS Mains hall ticket, it made an announcement on social media and received widespread criticism from aspirants. However, the official government press release highlighted only a few positive comments—suspiciously all from accounts with female names, linked to skincare promotion companies, and based outside Rajasthan. The incident has sparked a row, with many accusing the state government’s PR team of using fake or planted accounts to get positive feedback.
Citing the reasons behind exam postponement demands, aspirants argued that unlike UPSC, RPSC does not release a proper calendar, nor does it provide sufficient time for preparation. Due to the blackout during "Operation Sindoor," students in border areas and soldiers—whose leaves were canceled and still haven't been reinstated—have suffered in their studies. The interviews for the 2023 recruitment haven't even started yet, but RPSC seems to be rushing into the next recruitment drive.
It takes RPSC up to six months just to check answer sheets, candidates said sarcastically. Despite having the support of two deputy chief ministers, six ministers, and 40 MLAs, the state government remains silent due to “bureaucratic inefficiency”. If interviews aren't completed even after eight months, how can we trust them to evaluate the new exams on time?,” they asked in a statement.
“The controversy over the Rajasthan RAS Mains exam (17-18 June 2025) is not going to end. A sensational allegation was made by a BJP spokesperson that the exam paper has already been sold, and that there is collusion between the government and some RPSC officials. This claim is creating anger and confusion among the candidates. But are these allegations true, or is it just a political stunt?,” said a candidate on X.
RPSC RAS Main postponement demand
Several candidates and aspirants are campaigning for postponement of the exam. Among the reasons is that the RAS 2023 interview process is not yet complete, nor is the final result declared. Candidates who have made it to the RAS 2023 interview are confused whether they should prepare for RAS Mains or wait for the RAS 2023 final result. If they get selected in RAS 2023, giving RAS Mains this year will be meaningless, and if not, they are not getting enough time to prepare for RAS 2024 Mains.
Moreover, due to ‘Operation Sindoor’, some soldiers whose leave was cancelled and who are still on duty will be deprived of appearing in the exam if the exam is held on the provided dates.
Extending support to the protesting candidates, the Students Federation of India (SFI) in Rajasthan noted the issue and demanded rescheduling of the exam. It also noted that there are a total of 21,539 candidates in RPS Mains exam but the commission has issued admit cards to only 21,440, leaving 89 without an admission ticket and demanded a clarification.
“The candidates and the organization demand that the RAS Mains date be changed so that the candidates get enough time to give the exam, the State Committee Rajasthan fully supports the demand of the candidates. And demands from the RPSC Commission that the Mains exam date be changed immediately and the candidates be given relief,” it said in a statement.
