RRB Group D 2019: Over 1 crore aspirants waiting 3 years for exam schedule; demand justice

#JusticeForRailwayStudents: Students wait 3 years for exam dates

NEW DELHI: Over 1 crore railway aspirants are waiting for the RRB Group D 2019 exam update for more than 1000 days now. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has not yet announced the RRB Group D 2019 exam dates, however, recently the board has released a modification link for candidates whose RRB Group D 2019 application form was rejected. Students have taken to Twitter and sought a response from the railway board on the delay.

RRB Group D exam is conducted for various categories to fill 1,03,769 vacancies. The RRB Group D 2019 exam was postponed due to Covid-19 pandemic. However, a total of 1 crore candidates who registered for the exam were left clueless as there was no update after a notification that was released in October 2020.

RRB Group D 2019 exam delay: What happened so far?

RRB Group D exam was scheduled to be conducted in June and the notification regarding the recruitment was released in February 2019. However, the RRB Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) exam that was announced along with the RRB Group D 2019 exam concluded in July 2021 this year. Four months later, the RRG group D schedule has not yet been released.

The railway aspirants on social media called it a recruitment scam as over 1 crore candidates who paid Rs 500 as application fee still wait for an update. Many also said they have crossed the age limit to apply for the job as three years passed since they registered for the exam.

As per the criteria, candidates applying for the RRB Group D exam must have qualified 10+2 while the age limit required for the exam is 18 to 30 years.

Using #JusticeForRailwayStudents, many candidates have demanded a response from the railway board. A Twitter user said, “3.5 years have passed and still no information about RRB Group D exam dates. Rs 500 was taken from students. Big hidden scam.”

Many aspirants have even shared videos explaining the problems faced by them due to the delay in the exam.

Another aspirant said, “Railway Group D vacancies were announced in 2019. But till now nothing is known about those vacancies. This is playing with the careers of crores of youth.”


Parents have also been requesting for an update from the authorities.

Another candidate said that the government recruitment takes longer than the election result announcement.
