RRBs select 335304 more candidates for second stage than the announced capping
NEW DELHI, DECEMBEER 21: With the announcement of RRB ALP revised result 2018, it has been found that Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have selected 1300869 candidates for the second stage. This means, the examination authority has shortlisted 335304 more candidates for the second stage than the announced capping.
According to the official notification of RRB ALP, the examination authority has to select candidates 15 times the total number of vacancies. So this 15 times of the total vacancies is 965565 which means that more number of candidates have qualified in the first stage exam.
The figure 1300869 comprehends that candidates, 20.21 times the number of vacancies have been selected for the next stage. However, RRBs had announced that candidates 15 times of the total vacancies will be selected. This means that RRBs have selected candidates 5 times more than the actual capping.
The result data also highlights that the maximum number of qualified candidates have been reported from Allahabad region. From this region, 197784 candidates have qualified for the second stage. The region is followed by Secunderabad in terms of maximum number of qualified candidates. As many as 148030 candidates have qualified for the next stage exam from this region.
The revised result of RRB ALP was declared on December 20, 2018. Candidates who have qualified the first stage examination will appear for the second stage which is scheduled to be conducted from January 21 to 23, 2019. The second stage exam will consist of two parts -A and B. To qualify in the second stage, candidates will have to secure qualifying marks separately in Part A and B.
