NEW DELHI: On the occasion of Children's day 2022, Shahani Academic and Global Empowerment (SAGE) Foundation partners with Thadomal Shahani Centre for Management (TSCFM) to announce that they will be providing 100 scholarships to underprivileged students.

Only students from the ages between 19 to 26 years that based in Mumbai and Pune and have a bachelor's degree from a recognized institute are eligible to apply for the scholarship. To apply, candidates are required to send an email to csr1@shahanigroup.com.

The initiative will help the students get enrolled in TSCFM’s flagship program which is a double professional diploma in banking, financial services and insurance (PDBFSI). The PDBFSI programme is a three-month course that aims to quip the students with skills required to meet industry demands with a curriculum developed by industry experts. Upon completing the course, the student will receive a certificate in business English and professional diploma in diploma in banking, financial services and insurance (accredited by the national skill development corporation (NSDC)) from TSCFM.

The centre has collaborated with NSDC that works under the ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship (MSDE) for the PDBFSI programmes.

Commenting on this initiative, SAGE Foundation and TSCFM chairperson, Maya Shahani, said: “Education is one of the most powerful tools that can help affect positive change in society. On this Children’s Day, SAGE Foundation and TSCFM are proud to announce these scholarships that are aligned with the theme for this year, ‘A Better Future for Every Child’. This initiative assumes even more significance in the context of India’s current challenges of high youth unemployment rates and lack of access to education due to insufficient funding, and we are confident that these merit-based scholarships will help youth from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds to build their careers in the BFSI Sector. We, at SAGE Foundation, believe that it is our collective duty as a society to uplift every child and youth through access to the right educational opportunities. To achieve this, we frequently offer scholarships to under-resourced Indian youth, and, so far, our scholarship initiatives have impacted thousands of youth, helping them get well-paying, entry-level jobs in the Banking and Finance sector.”

"SAGE Foundation provides underprivileged youth the education and resources to gain high-paying white-collar jobs in the BFSI Sector. We aim to build careers of 1 million low-income youth through this initiative." added Sage Foundation, vice president, corporate relations, Jugnu Dutta.
