The SBI PO recruitment 2025 will be held in three phases - preliminary exam, mains, and psychometric test, group exercise, and interview. As per the schedule, the admit card or e-call letter for the SBI PO preliminary exam will be issued in the third or fourth week of July. The SBI PO prelims exam 2025 will be held in July-August.
Only those candidates who qualify the SBI PO prelims will be eligible to appear for the second phase exam.
As per the SBI PO eligibility criteria, candidates who have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognised university will be considered for the vacancies. Those who are in the final year or semester of their graduation will also be allowed to apply, provided they submit the proof of qualification on or before September 20, 2025.
Applicants should not be below 21 years and not above 30 years as on April 1, 2025. Those born later than April 1, 2004 and not earlier than April 2, 1995, both days inclusive, will not be eligible.

According to the official notification, the starting basic pay for a Probationary Officer (PO) at SBI is Rs 48,480, which includes four advance increments. This falls under the pay scale of 48,480–2,000/7–62,480–2,340/2–67,160–2,680/7–85,920, applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I. In addition to the basic pay, the officer will be entitled to various allowances and benefits such as dearness allowance (DA), house rent allowance (HRA) or lease rental, city compensatory allowance (CCA), medical benefits and other perquisites, as per the rules in force from time to time.
The recruitment process for SBI Probationary Officers (PO) is conducted in three stages. It begins with a preliminary examination, followed by the main examination. Candidates who clear both these stages are then called for the final round, which includes a group discussion and personal interview.
Candidates will have to pay the application fee online while submitting the form. The fee is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against any other exam. Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates are exempted from the fee, while those from General and other categories are required to pay Rs 750.

To be eligible for SBI Clerk 2025, a candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government. Those in the final year or semester of their graduation can also apply on a provisional basis, provided they are able to produce proof of passing the graduation exam at the time of the interview, if shortlisted.
To be eligible for the SBI PO 2025 recruitment, candidates should be at least 21 years old and not more than 30 years as on the specified cut-off date. This means that only those born between April 2, 1995, and April 1, 2004 (including both dates), are eligible to apply for the SBI PO 2025 exam.

The number of vacancies for SBI PO has seen a significant decline over the past three years. In 2023, there were 2,000 vacancies, which dropped sharply to 600 in 2024. The downward trend continued in 2025, with only 541 vacancies announced.
The SBI PO 2025 exam date has not been officially announced yet. However, as per the official notification, the SBI PO 2025 preliminary exam is expected to be held in July or August.
Candidates will be able to fill out the SBI PO 2025 application fee till July 14 through the official website at sbi.co.in.
Candidates who have defaulted in repayment under any lending arrangement with Banks or any other financial institutions, including credit card dues, will not be eligible to apply for SBI PO recruitment.
However, candidates who have regularized or repaid such outstanding dues before receiving the appointment letter will be considered for the vacant positions. But those candidates whose CIBIL status has not been updated are required to produce the NOCs from the lender to the effect that there are no outstanding dues. Failing to provide the updated CIBIL status will result in cancellation of candidature.
The total number of vacancies for the unreserved (UR) category in the SBI PO 2024 recruitment is 203. These are all regular vacancies, as there are no backlog vacancies listed under the UR category.
Candidates belonging to unreserved, EWS, and OBC will have to pay an application fee of Rs 750. Whereas, SC, ST, PwBD candidates are exempted from paying fees.
"Application Fee once paid will not be refunded on any account nor can it be held in reserve for any other examination or selection," the bank clarified.
