NEW DELHI: The Kerala government has decided to suspend offline teaching for Classes up to 9. The decision was taken in a high-level Covid review meeting which was held today and chaired by chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The government reintroduced online classes for students studying in Class 1 to Class 9, reported the ANI.

All government, semi-government and cooperative institutions have also been told to conduct programmes online. Weekend curfews and night curfews will not be introduced in the state. But in places with a test positive rate beyond 20 per cent, restrictions will be imposed limiting the number of people who can participate in events such as social, cultural, religious programmes or weddings and funerals. A maximum of up to 50 individuals will be allowed to attend such events. Public events will be banned in places with a test positivity rate beyond 30 per cent. These restrictions will be implemented by the district administration, reported the Manorama.
