From 1st Sept, classes for 9-12 in all schools, all coaching classes as well as all colleges will be permitted to resume.
He said a decision about opening schools for lower classes will be taken after analysing the effect of reopening schools for senior classes. Sisodia said that permission of parents will be required for students to attend school. No student will be forced to go to school.
Schools for classes 9 to 12 will reopen on September 1 and for classes 6 to 8 will reopen on September 8. However the online classes will continue and one cannot force students to attend physical classes. Also parental consent is a must.
Almost 98 percent of the Delhi government schools staff have been vaccinated with at least one dose.
The issue of reopening schools in Delhi was earlier discussed in a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) that was attended by Lt Governor Anil Baijal, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Sisodia among others.
