Sharda University hosts a 5-day faculty development programme

NEW DELHI: Sharda University hosted a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) focused on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) to enrich the knowledge and skills of university faculty and other stakeholders.

The university stated that the FDP featured more than 17 industry experts. These experts delivered lectures and provided insights of the latest industry trends.

The Faculty Development Programme at Sharda University concluded with the participants learning the current industry trends and also the importance of aligning teaching methods with student needs. The discussions on significance of values, character development, a positive mindset, and the acquisition of knowledge and skills were also conducted.

Furqan Qamar, professor at the Centre for Management Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia said: ”Values serve as the compass that guides outcome-based teaching and learning, where education becomes a transformative journey that shapes students into not only competent persons but also good human beings. Thinking on teaching in terms of what students need empowers tailored progress, while constantly improving teaching methods assures an enhanced educational experience."

“A student's employability goes beyond technical aptitude; their character as a good human being is also necessary. Remember that if you have the appropriate attitude, employment opportunities will naturally gravitate toward you. Investing in our teachers is never exorbitant; it is a long-term investment. Let us foster a culture of appreciation for our educators, acknowledging their vital role in influencing future generations” the IIT Delhi professor further added.
