SMIT offline exam for B.Tech admission cancelled, students to take online exam from home

NEW DELHI: Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology has cancelled its offline test for admission to B.Tech course for the academic session 2020-21. The test was scheduled for April 19 across various test cities of India. The decision has been taken considering the grave threat posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The institute issued a notice stating ”Since the restrictions have been imposed on travel and work all across the country and complete lockdown has been ordered, the SMIT offline test scheduled for April 19 stands cancelled”.
The institute has made a provision for students to take the exam in online mode from April 19 to 21 from safety and security of their home. Students have to first book a slot from April 11 to 15 to use the facility of online exam from home. The institute also issued modalities for the exam so that students do not face any problem for appearing in the exam. More details about the revised schedule is provided below
Date of Examination: April 19 to 21, 2020.
Timings for Examination:
Forenoon Session : 10.00 AM to 11.30 AM
Afternoon Session : 02.00 PM to 03.30 PM

SMIT Online Test Slot Booking: April 11 to 15
SMIT Online Test 2020: April 19 to 21
SMIT Online Test 2020 Result: April 23
SMIT Online Test Counselling/ Admission: SMIT, Sikkim on May 4
Online Test Slot Booking (OTBS) :
The OTBS will be activated from April 11 to 15 for exam slot booking. Applicants can login on www.applysmit.in , using their registered user id (email id of the applicant) and password for OTBS booking only if the application is complete in all respects.
