SRM IHM, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts collaborate on student internships, job placement

As per the four-year agreement, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts management will participate in workshops and guest lectures at SRM IHM.
NEW DELHI: SRM University Institute of Hotel Management (SRM IHM) today entered into an academia-industry partnership with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. As per the four-year agreement, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts will be represented on the board of studies committee of SRM IHM and the former will provide internship and placement opportunities to the institute’s students.
Wyndham Hotels and Resorts management will also participate in workshops and guest lectures at SRM IHM. The internships that will be offered by Wyndham Hotels and Resorts will provide vital hands-on experience to prepare SRM IHM students for the hospitality industry upon graduation, the institute said.
Ravi Pachamothoo, Chancellor of SRM University, said , "We strongly believe in the industry relevant education and providing skills to students that make them ready for the real world. Our strategic partnership with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts will help us further our vision and enable students at SRM IHM to connect and talk to industry experts and know about subjects and issues that are relevant in the hospitality industry ."

By sharing our experiences and relevant real-world issues in a classroom setting, we aim to better equip students with important skills that will help them once they are out of college and build their knowledge of industry needs.”
SRM Institute of Hotel Management offers a three-year degree programme in hotel management. The institute has excellent infrastructure to match the star category hotels, well equipped training kitchen and bakery and confectionery to develop culinary skills, SRM IHM said.
