SRM University Honours Guru Drona Awards to School Principals

NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 4: SRM University, Delhi-NCR, Sonepat, Haryana celebrated Guru Drona Awards, a Principal’s Conclave where eminent educationists, teachers and faculty members, dignitaries, experts, and most specifically, more than hundred school Principals, who were selected for their outstanding performance in education, attended the function for making a wider and vital University-School collaboration.
This effervescent programme had been idealised by the university, as a collaborative initiative to bring the University and the Schools together, well-knitted in a partnership, where educationists representing both university and schools become an intractable agency in modelling a new generation of teachers in different schools, representing, government, aided and private.
Dr. P. Prakash, the Vice Chancellor, SRM University, welcomed the august gathering, and explicated that SRM universities and their branch institutions are catering more than 80000 students representing India and some of the foreign countries. Furthermore, he said, this fledgling five-year-old new institution, with a motto, ‘learn, leap and lead,’ believes in imparting and inculcating ‘intellectualism’ through ‘intelligent quotient’ of the students, which will be converted into ‘efficiency quotient’ and ultimately transformed into ‘employability quotient.’
Prof. M. M. Pant, former Vice-Chancellor of IGNOU, Visiting faculty of the University of Western Ontario, Canada, who was the chief guest, eulogized the programmes initiated by the university and emphasized the schemes conceptualized and implemented by the university for the welfare of the teachers and learners, and articulated that teachers and learners are the most important people in the society, where technology-empowered training and teaching becomes predominant these days.
