SSC CGL 2018 exam begins for tier I; know details here

NEW DELHI, JUNE 4: The tier I exam of SSC CGL 2018 has begun in online mode at around 130 cities across the country. The exam is being held by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) in order to recruit as many as 9000 candidates at Group B and C posts in government departments. SSC CGL exam is being conducted from June 4 to 19. Through this exam, candidates will be shortlisted for the tier II exam of SSC CGL.

Candidates who have brought their respective admit card along with one of the prescribed photo ID proofs - Aadhar Card, Voter ID Card, PAN Card, Driving License, Passport to the allotted centre have only been allowed to take the test.
The test is in computer based mode containing questions for four sections - General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language. The test contains a total of 100 questions of 2 marks each. Candidates have been allotted 60 minutes to complete the exam. For each wrong response, 0.50 marks are being deducted.
Candidates who perform well and score the minimum required cut off will be shortlisted for the Tier II exam of SSC CGL which is scheduled to be held from September 11 to 13, 2019.
SSC CGL exam is conducted to recruit candidates at Group B and C post in the Ministries/ Departments/Organizations in the Government of India. The test is conducted in four stages - tier I , II, III, and IV. Tier I and II are computer based tests while tier III exam is pen and paper based. Tier IV exam is a Skill test and the last stage in the selection process of SSC CGL.
