NEW DELHI: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has begun the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam from today onwards. The SSC CGL 2021 tier 1 exam is being conducted in multiple shifts across various exam centres in India, amid strict COVID-19 guidelines. Candidates with a valid admit card of SSC CGL 2021 along with one original ID proof will only be granted entry to the exam centre. Candidates with mask sanitisers were given permission to enter into the exam hall.

The SSC CGL 2021 exam was postponed due to the second wave of the coronavirus. The exam was earlier scheduled to be held from May 29 to June 7, 2021.

The SSC CGL tier 1 exam is being conducted in computer-based online mode and the question paper is based on topics such as - General intelligence and reasoning, General awareness, Quantitative aptitude and English comprehension. The time duration is 60 minutes and there is negative marking in the SSC CGL exam.

What after the SSC CGL tier 1 exam?

Candidates who qualify in the SSC CGL tier 1 exam will be eligible to appear in the tier 2 exam. The tier 2 of the SSC CGL exam will again be conducted in online mode, however, the number of questions will be 100 instead of 60 and time duration will be 2 hours in place of 60 minutes. The dates of the SSC CGL tier 2 will be released soon.

What is the SSC CGL?

SSC CGL is being conducted to recruit candidates for various Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts in different Departments/ Ministries/ Organizations of the government of India. Some of the posts are of Assistant Audit Officer, Assistant Accounts Officer, Inspector, (Central Excise) etc.
