NEW DELHI, JANUARY 13: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is conducting SSC JHT Paper 1 examination on January 13, 2019. The exam is being held online in various exam centres across 26 cities of India.

Paper 1 consists of only multiple choice questions from two subjects – General Hindi and General English. The exam is being conducted for 200 marks. Candidates have been allotted two hours to complete the exam.

The exam aims to test candidates’ knowledge of literature, phrases and idioms, correct use of words, and ability to write the languages efficiently.

As per the marking scheme, candidates will be awarded 1 mark for every correct response. Therefore, the exam contains total 200 questions. Negative marking is also applicable for Paper 1 wherein 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

After Paper 1 is concluded, the Commission will declare the result of the exam. On the basis of the result, candidates will be shortlisted to appear for Paper 2. On the basis of Paper 2 cut off, candidates will be called for Document Verification (DV).

After the process of Document Verification gets over, SSC will release the final result. The final result is prepared based on the aggregate score of Paper 1 and 2, provided they have furnished all relevant documents on the day of DV.

Candidates securing equal to or more than the final cut off will be recruited for the post of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, and Hindi Pradhyapak in ministries/departments as per post/department preference provided by them during document verification.
