SSC self-slot selection window to open for JE exam from November 10 and SI exam from November 17

SSC Self-Slot Selection: Candidates who do not select a slot within the prescribed dates will be automatically assigned one. Once submitted, slot selections cannot be changed, and the allocation will be final and binding.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the self-slot selection facility for candidates appearing in the Junior Engineer (JE) exam 2025 and the Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) exam 2025. Under the self-slot selection facility, candidates can select their preferred exam city and date through the official SSC portal at ssc.gov.in.
For the Junior Engineer Examination, the slot selection window will be open from November 10 to November 13, 2025. Candidates appearing for the Sub-Inspector Examination can select their slots between November 17 and November 21, 2025.
The Commission has clarified that once a slot is selected, it will be considered final. Candidates cannot request changes once the slot is submitted. Candidates who do not select a slot within the prescribed period will be automatically assigned an available slot based on their application preferences or availability.

SSC slot allocation final and binding
The SSC has stated that the slot allocation made by the system will be final and binding. Candidates are advised to complete the selection process within the stipulated dates to ensure their preferred schedule.
“If a candidate fails to exercise the slot selection option within the prescribed time limit, the system will automatically allocate an available slot in any of the cities opted during the application window or as per availability. The decision of the Commission regarding the slot allocation shall be final and binding,” the commission said.
The SSC JE and SSC Sub-Inspector (SI) Paper-I exams are scheduled for December 2025. The SSC recruitment drive aims to fill 1,731 JE posts and 5,308 SI posts in the Delhi Police and the CAPF.
