NEW DELHI: The University of Delhi (DU) in its 1,266th Executive Council meeting today, June 9, presented the strategic plan of the university for the next 25 years -- from 2022 to 2047. During the EC meeting, approval has also been given to revise the schemes of examinations of the existing CBCS/LOCF based courses as per the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework-2022 as recommended by the Academic Council. The council also approved the start of engineering programme and the launch of Freedom and Partition Study Center and Tribal Studies Center. The council also came up with the criteria for PhD admission at DU.

Under the revised scheme of examiantion, the recommendations given in relation to the curriculum of various departments of the Faculty of Arts based on the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework 2022 implemented from the academic year 2022-2023 were accepted. Along with this, the recommendations of the Faculty of Commerce and Business Science regarding the syllabus of Semester-IV and Semester-V of the Department of Commerce were also accepted.

The EC meeting, a DU statement issued in this regard said, also approved the recommendation of the steering committee constituted for conducting the program under the existing departments of the Faculty of Technology, namely the programme BTech Computer Science and Engineering of the Department of Computer Engineering, BTech Electronics and Communication Engineering of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering B.Tech Electrical Engineering of the Department of Electrical Engineering.

The resolution to set up the Center for Independence and Partition Studies, passed in the 1014th Academic Council meeting of the University, was also approved. Through research, this center will also work on such unsung heroes and events of the freedom movement, which have not yet found a place in history.

Apart from this, approval has also been given for the formation of Tribal Studies Center. It will be a multi-disciplinary center with studies on various tribes of India. In addition to the above, establishment of Hindu Studies Center was also passed in the EC meeting. A Master of Arts program in Hindu Studies will be started under the Center for Hindu Studies.
