Startup Fest for Aspiring Entrepreneurs in IIM Calcutta

NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 16: IIM Calcutta will witness the congregation of budding entrepreneurs from across the country as it organizes the ‘The Startup Fest’ for aspiring entrepreneurs on the November 17 th and 18 th 2018. The second day will host the most awaited entrepreneurship event in Eastern India, E-Summit – 2018. The star attractions would include speakers like Abhay Tandon of Anheuser-Busch InBev, Navika Kumar of Times Now, Bhavjot Kaur of Clinikk Healthcare.
The first day of the 2-day event will see activities like i2i – Ideas to Implementation , one of the best B-plan competitions across all the B-schools in the country, encouraging people and supports them by helping them present their ideas on the influential platform and grab the opportunity to turn these ideas into reality.
Speaking about the event Gaurav Kapoor, Head Invent, IIM Calcutta, Innovation Park said, “With a 12 year old legacy, these events enthuse the youth to take up entrepreneurship as a career option. The participation has been growing every year and the quality of startups that pitch at I2I has evolved over time.”
The panel judging the ideas will include investors, industry experts and academics. The competition will take place among a final of 15 teams across India, shortlisted from among 1000+ participants.
“ The E-Summit has seen some prolific speakers and panelists from the startup ecosystem inspiring the youth that flock in large numbers to soak in their entrepreneurial journey. This year we expect a very large turnout of students from various colleges at the E-Summit, which will be featuring some exciting stories from the East,” added Kapoor.
This event will be followed by a Triathlon , a Quiz, Investor’s Debate and an Elevator Pitch conducted back to back, with participants screened and evaluated across events. These ideas will be evaluated by the jury consisting of entrepreneurs, professors and E-Cell committee. The competition will be held among more than 100 participants.
The second day will witness the grand celebration of entrepreneurship and will focus on promoting this culture among the Indian youth to motivate and provide the resources necessary to make their ideas into realities. The grand event will conclude with a music concert by an entrepreneurial band, Rudraraksha.
