University of Sheffield invites applications for MSc Robotics programme for September 2025 intake

NEW DELHI: The University of Sheffield United Kingdom is inviting applications for its one-year MSc Robotics programme starting in September 2025. The annual fee for the academic year 2025 is £31,190, as per the University of Sheffield statement.

To apply for the programme, students should have a minimum of 60% from a recognised university in relevant subject such as engineering, maths, and physics. An overall ILETS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, or equivalent, is required.

The MSc in robotics programme is accredited by the Engineering Council UK, Institution of Engineering and Technology, and the Institute of Measurement and Control.

MSc in Robotics modules include:

• Data modelling and machine intelligence
• Foundations of robotics
• Mechatronics for robotics
• Manipulator robotics
• Machine vision
• Mobile robotics and autonomous systems
• Multisensor and decision systems
• Robotics project and dissertation

University of Sheffield: Scholarship

The university offers 75 International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarships for the 2025 intake. Each scholarship offers an award worth £10,000 towards the original tuition fee for a postgraduate taught programme starting in September 2025. The scholarships are accessible to all international students who fulfil the eligibility criteria. The last date to apply for scholarship applications is 1 pm (UK time) on May 12.

University of Sheffield: MSc in robotics

According to the University of Sheffield statement, by opting for the MSc in robotics programme, students can become an expert in robotics and autonomous systems, with the interdisciplinary skills to join the next generation of engineers. Students will learn about machines and artificial intelligence (AI), robotic sensing and perception, control and planning, and robotic devices and systems.

“Robotics is increasingly important to a variety of sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare and aerospace. Autonomous systems and robotics, the Internet of Things, smart grids and cloud computing are also being used more widely,” the University of Sheffield statement said.

Additionally, the programme will help students develop their knowledge and skills in the key areas of robotics and autonomous systems and also about machine and artificial intelligence (AI), robotic sensing and perception, control and planning and robotic devices and systems.

“Students can choose optional modules, including working with companies on real opportunities and problems experienced by the industry. They will also complete a research-level dissertation project where they will take the lead to advance their knowledge and skills in robotics,” the University of Sheffield statement adds.
